Many Changes + Two New Rides Headed to Kings Island in 2015

Kings Island has announced plans to make changes to their Planet Snoopy family area, adding two new rides and making the land bigger and better than ever.

The park will remove the aging Snoopy's Splash Dance water maze in favor of two twirling new family rides.
Kings Islands released this concept artwork of the modifications being made to Planet Snoopy.  The larger of the two new rides is the Woodstock Gliders, a set of Larson Flying Scooters.  The ride will seat two guests in each car, allowing them to control their ride using a moveable front wing.  Cars can swing a maximum of 28 feet in the air as the Woodstock Gliders spin.

The second new ride is aimed at smaller kids and their parents, named Snoopy's Space Buggies.  This gentle attraction has six four-seat cars that gently bounce up and down as they move in a circular path.

The circles show the items to be removed in the renovations.
Both of the rides will be located in a newly renovated area where the water maze is currently.  The theater in Planet Snoopy will also be demolished in favor of a new petting zoo.

The park is also making several changes to their food options, including removing their current Starbucks in favor of one of the largest ones in the Midwest at 3,650 square feet.  The new location will be on International Street near the entrance.

International Street will also be the home of a new Yogurt Plus stand, along with a make your own funnel cake location.  The current fudge and candy store will be renovated head to toe and become the Sweet Spot in 2015.

Finally, Kings Island will complete renovations to their Picnic Grove area including new stone pavers, refreshed signage, landscaping, restrooms and a totally new entrance.

Sounds like a very busy year for the park with so many changes, which is exciting to see after the park debuted a huge addition in 2014 in the form of Banshee!
