A Trip to Outer Space to Save the Spaghetti

Universal Studios Singapore has created an adorable new dark ride for families called Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase.  The traditional dark rides takes riders (who are led by Elmo on an in-car monitor) on a journey into deep space to return spaghetti to planet earth.

Yes, I just wrote that all the spaghetti on earth has been taken, and that does sound pretty terrible if you ask me.  It seems that the ride's storyline involves Macaroni the Merciless and his two associates, Zester and Shredder, stealing everyone's favorite pasta.  Grover and Elmo have teamed up, along with the rest of the Sesame Street characters to get it back, but naturally they need riders' help to accomplish the mission.

The ride uses some modern special effects along with basic animatronic characters during the ride.  Certainly not an "E-ticket" but still a solid family attraction, and Universal Studios Singapore really lacked a traditional dark ride.  It is a bit of a shame that we won't see the ride at either of the North American Universal parks, as Sesame Street is licensed to the SeaWorld parks.  Maybe this will give them some ideas, though?
