'Tis The Season For Lake Compounce's Holiday Lights

This past weekend marked the first ever Holiday Lights celebration at Connecticut's Lake Compounce amusement park.  After the successful debut of the event last year at sister park Kennywood, the event has been duplicated up north at Lake Compounce, and now offers four weekends of holiday cheer.

A main feature of Holiday Lights is the decorative lights, of course! There's plenty of them at the park, including thousands in the entrance area that are synchronized to festive holiday music.  There's twelve other displays, one for each of the twelve days of Christmas.

Besides the lights, there's plenty of other activities at the park as well.  Many of the kiddie rides are operating, along with some family ones.  The train ride gives passengers a trip to the North Pole, something the whole family can enjoy together.

Carolers will entertain the crowds as they perform throughout the park, and other holiday costumed characters will appear as well.  Inside, guests can have photos taken with Santa himself, enjoy some warm treats or perhaps even pick up a gift or two.

I'm quite happy to see the Holiday events spreading to more Northern parks, like Lake Compounce, here is to them spreading more in the future!
