No More Battle Across Time at Universal Studios Hollywood

The winds of change are continuing to be rather blustery at Universal Studios Hollywood, which has just confirmed that Terminator 2 - 3D: Battle Across Time will have its final performance at the theme park on December 31st, 2012.

This comes ahead of the major construction starting for Universal Hollywood's own version of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which will see a large portion of the upper section of the park razed in order to accommodate the addition.  There is a big plan for the park over the next five or so years, and I think the growing pains will be worth it.

T2-3D, as it was usually called, first opened at Universal Hollywood in 1999.  The attraction combined a 3-D film with live actors, along with a full preshow and plenty of special effects.

The film created for the attraction joined the principal cast of the early Terminator films alongside director James Cameron, and was specifically produced for the ride.

In the Hollywood park the entire show building was built on top of a parking deck, and for now Universal Studios Florida has not named a replacement.  Rumors are already strong that a Despicable Me attraction, similar to that in Florida, will be added.

For those who want one last trip to Cyberdyne, now is your chance!
