Storybook Circus Soft Opens at the Magic Kingdom

© Disney

The Magic Kingdom, part of Forida's Walt Disney World, has soft-opened a part of Fantasyland's new Storybook Circus to park guests.  The rides that have opened include the Dumbo the Flying Elephant spinner and Barnstormer, Starring The Great Goofini, a family coaster.

The Fantasyland train station has also opened, allowing another stop on the route that flows around the outside of the park.

The Dumbo attraction will eventually be joined by another ride to double capacity.  As you can see in the photo above the ride has had some decorative fountains added at its base.  The interactive queue for the ride has not opened yet.

The whole Storybook Circus area is themed to the traveling Circuses of the 1950s and 1960s, and will eventually include a water play area and additional food and retail locations.  The section is part of the much larger New Fantasyland expansion that is being worked on.  The entire area will be home to a Snow White themed coaster, the Little Mermaid dark ride, and a Beauty and the Beast themed dining area.

For more photos of the new area, chick out the Disney Parks Blog and Orlando Attractions Magazine.

Barnstormer looks worse than before. The rest of the area looks good though.
