Scream Zone Update!

Thanks to Allen, one of our readers, we have some fantastic construction photos of the new Scream Zone in Coney Island. As the park's opening day inches closer, work on the new coasters and rides is moving even faster than ever.

The park's flying coaster, the Soaring Eagle, is now complete.  It also looks in this photo like it has received a new coat of paint (with red track), though I can't be sure.

The ride is said to feature new passenger cars, which will feature modifications to allow for a more comfortable ride.  Here we see one of the cars hanging out at the Soaring Eagle site.

With the track and supports complete, the ride still needs a station!  Here we see parts of the framing going up for exactly that.

Scream Zone will also feature a Sling Shot ride, the passenger car for that is seen here.  The ride features rainbow color tower pieces, along with LED lights, which will make it stand out among the other attractions.

Here is a shot of one of the Sling Shot's towers, and that's not even the very tip top (about 200 feet)!  You can also get a nice view of another thrill ride, Zenobio, a Zamperla turbo force.  I love the smiling face logo in the center!

The Steeplechase coaster is now starting to go up as well.  This will be a launched coaster, the turn immediately after that launch is what can be seen here.

I believe the ride will be the same in layout to some other MotoCoasters that have opened, like this one in Guatemala.  I haven't been on one of these yet, and am looking forward to trying it out!

The cars for the Steeplechase are on site as well, but still covered.  It is expected that they will be similar to those on Pony Express at Knott's.

Thanks again to Allen for sending the photos!
