Massive Wheel Approved For Las Vegas Strip

Just days after an announcement that a massive Ferris Wheel could be coming to Orlando, developers received approval to build a 500 foot one on the Las Veags Strip.  To be located on 10 acres across the street from Mandalay Bay, the mixed use site would contain retail locations, restaurants, and amusement park rides.

While the big wheel is being fabricated, a temporary 200 foot tall wheel will be constructed.  Six rides are proposed for now, but an expansion to the property could include a roller coaster.  Over the years Ferris Wheels have been proposed for several locations along the Strip, though none ever were built.

Caesar's is currently planning a sky wheel in an entertainment complex they want to build named Linq, also located along the Strip.  With two plans now on the table, it appears that whichever project moves forward first will be the winner.
