Aerial Antics: Cedar Point Part 3

This will be the last part of our look at Cedar Point from the sky... believe it or not there's still plenty to look at - off we go!

It would have been rather difficult to include all of Millennium Force in one shot due to its irregular layout - so I went with it's iconic first hill and drop.  Opened in the year 2000, the coaster has over 6,500 feet of track that snakes its way around the Point.

One section of the park holds two of the park's smaller coasters.  On the left is Woodstock Express, a Vekoma built family ride.  The blue coaster hiding in the trees is Jr. Gemini, which was Intamin's first coaster.  (so says Wiki)

We can't forget about Mean Streak, the massive wooden coaster sitting prominently at the back of the park.  Opening in 1991 as the world's tallest and fastest wooden ride, it's lost a bit of its riding luster over the years, but is as visually imposing as ever.

Corkscrew was another of Cedar Point's record breakers, in this case it was the first ride with three inversions when it opened in 1976.  For me, however, the highlight is the air-time hill after the first drop!

Iron Dragon is one of a dying breed of coasters, with only 5 Arrow Suspended coasters still operating.  It may not be the tallest, fastest, or most intense ride, but its lower height restriction makes it a "big" ride that smaller kids can go on.

If I've done my math correctly, we've now looked at all 17 of Cedar Point's coasters.  To check out the aerials yourself, follow this link.
