Carowinds 2009: Carolina Cobra

Today Carowinds announced their new addition for the 2009 season, the Carolina Cobra. This is the former Head Spin Vekoma Boomerang coaster from the now closed Geauga Lake amusement park in Ohio.

The ride will have coral colored track with teal supports. These are the colors that Geauga Lake said they were going to paint the ride when it was there! Remember, then suddenly Geauga didn't paint it... and then later we found out that the park was closing. How curious.

The ride, who's logo bears a striking resemblance to Mamba's at WOF, is receiving new trains from Vekoma that have a redesigned restraint type that might make the ride more enjoyable.

The park also has a webcam up for the ride, seen above. The park has removed almost all of the Super Saturator coaster, it looks like just a little bit is left standing.

Here is the website the park has created for the ride.
