Ahead of the park's upcoming opening weekend, Six Flags Darien Lake has started to build their new-for-2019 attraction, the Six Flags SkyScreamer.  The tall swing ride looks to be located where the park's former Top Spin once was, in the Northern section of the amusement park.  These photos were shared by the park on social media this past week.

When finished, the Six Flags SkyScreamer will stand 242 feet tall, making it the tallest thrill ride in the State of New York, according to the park.

These photos show the base and first segment of the tower in place, complete with a bright red paint job.  The swing ride will take riders in a giant 98 foot circle over 200 feet in the air at speed of 35 miles per hour.

This news article states that the park, which officially rejoins the Six Flags family by name in 2019, hopes to open the thrill ride in mid-May.  It also says that Six Flags Darien Lake is spending $2.1 million to build the Six Flags SkyScreamer.
