Legoland Florida Gives Aerial Update of New Beach Retreat Resort

Legoland Florida's second hotel resort is progressing toward its mid-2017 grand opening, and to celebrate the theme park has released some new aerial images of the site.  Located just across the road from Legoland Florida, the new Beach Retreat resort will be just a couple minutes from a full day of fun at the theme and water parks.  You can see some of the park's attractions through the trees in the background of these images, showing the close proximity.

The Beach Retreat will have 88 separate bungalows, each with two guest rooms for a total of 166 units.  The brightly colored facility will be beach themed from head to toe, giving visitors a relaxing but fun property to explore.  It is set directly on Lake Dexter, which will also give picturesque views from multiple locations.

The progress update also comes as the resort lit the 45 foot tall lighthouse tower for the first time, seen above as part of the main dining/retail/pool area.  Named Sandy’s Castle Restaurant, the facility will  "feature a bountiful menu of creative cuisine designed to please the palates of kids and grownups alike."  Free breakfast will be included for guests, but the restaurant will also serve dinner and lunch without reservations needed.

The Beach Retreat will also have a large central pool, with Brick's Beach Bar adjacent to it - offering a menu of "made-to-order food, drinks and creative cocktails served both poolside and indoors."  Other amenities include a huge sandy play area, large retail store with sundries, souvenirs and, naturally, plenty of Lego sets.  All of the bungalow units will be centered around individual play areas to keep kids busy, while parents can safely watch them from their private patio.

Reservations for the Legoland Beach Retreat are now available for June 1, 2017 onward, with rates starting at $135.
