Knott's Berry Farm Has More In Store for 2017 Season

Knott's Berry Farm had previously announced a pair of new slide towers for its adjacent Soak City water park, but it turns out that they have even more fun in store for 2017.  The theme park will be adding a thrilling new flat ride, bringing back Ghost Town Alive!, expanding its popular Boysenberry Festival, plus more.

Sol Spin, a thrilling new ride, will be added to the park's Fiesta Village themed area.  From the concept art, it appears as though Sol Spin will be a Mondial Top Scan - standing over 60 feet tall and inverting riders in a series of twisted motions.  No word on whether the ride is used (similar to the one going into sister park Carowinds next year) or a brand new purchase.  The ride is slated to be ready for spring 2017.

This past summer Ghost Town Alive!, a series of special interactive components in the park's Ghost Town section, was a huge success.  In 2017 the event will come back to the park, with "new characters and even more interactive old west fun."  It sounds like many of the story lines that were created this year will be expanded upon throughout the 2017 run, making it even more fun for visitors to return and see what has changed in the town of Calico.

Knott's Berry Farm will also expand the Boysenberry Festival to a total of 23 days next year, with new food, shopping and live entertainment.  Finally the park will renovate the current Boardwalk Barbecue restaurant (near Xcelerator) to feature "smoked pork ribs, tri-tip and rotisserie chicken along with a selection of sandwiches, side dishes and a selection of local and well known craft beers."  The fast-casual outlet will have a new covered seating area complete with a stage for live entertainment.
