The Gravity Group Wins Contract for new Wooden Coaster in France

Located in France, Walibi Rhone-Alpes will debut a brand new Gravity Group wooden roller coaster in 2016, the theme park has announced.  Above is a photo of a representative of the park (left) and one from the The Gravity Group (right) after the deal was sealed.

Only problem so far is that we have no details on the new ride!  It is always great to hear of a new wooden coaster going up, and this is no exception to that rule.  Aside from the fact that the deal was complete, the only statistic I've come across about the new coaster is that RCDB reports that it will cost 4.2 million euros, or $4.6 million.

That's certainly enough to buy a medium sized coaster, and with the talents of The Gravity Group at work, I have no doubt that an impressive ride will be created.  Walibi Rhone-Alpes is holding a naming contest for the ride, which lists the theme for the ride.  However when Google translates that theme for me I get "through forests, like a lumberjack on a last generation machine, to cut wood!" - so I think something was lost along the way there.

We will stay tuned to see more of what the ride will offer in the future!
