Holiday In The Park Headed to Six Flags Great Adventure in 2015

Visitors to New Jersey's Six Flags Great Adventure will have a new way to celebrate the holiday spirit this year when the park debuts their Holiday In The Park celebration.  Running from November 21st on weekends and select dates through January 3rd, 2016, the event will feature "glittering lights, dazzling holiday entertainment, delicious seasonal treats, Santa’s village, animals and many popular rides" as part of the festivities.

Six Flags' Holiday In The Park celebrations can be found at several other parks across the country, and are quickly growing in popularity.  The addition at Six Flags Great Adventure will create a 2015 season that will run all the way from Easter weekend through the New Year.

Six different areas of the park will be transformed into holiday wonderlands, each offering a look at the different holiday traditions of the world.  The areas will feature decorations strung from top to bottom, including light shows, towering festive trees, food vendors offering treats and more.

“Holiday in the Park will be a winter spectacular on every family’s must-do list and is included with every season pass and membership,” said Six Flags Great Adventure President John Fitzgerald. “We have invested years of research into making this the most incredible and immersive seasonal experience it can be, combining holiday traditions with thrills that are uniquely Six Flags.”

The park will feature several live entertainment programs during Holiday In The park, including a meet and greet with Santa where kids can have their photo taken.  There will also be live carolers, a brand new stage production and a nightly tree lighting ceremony.  Best of all, each night will end with a touch a magic - the park intends to make it 'snow' regardless of whether it is in the forecast or not.

For ride fans the park has more good news - the plan is to have nearly 30 rides open during the event.  A complete list is not yet available, however Adventure Seaport, SkyScreamer, Parachutes, Tea Cups, Big Wheel and the Carousel are specifically mentioned.  Roller Coasters will be operating as well, including Nitro, Batman The Ride, The Green Lantern, Superman Ultimate Flight and the indoor Skull Mountain and The Dark Knight rides.  All rides, of course, would be operating weather (and temperature) permitting.

Six Flags Great Adventure will be releasing more details of the event as the year progresses on their website.  Stay tuned!
