New Track Installed + A Look at Twisted Colossus' First Drops

It's strange to see photos taken in Southern California and not have a beautiful sky in the background!  But even the gray blahs can't overpower the newly installed blue-track first drop on Twisted Colossus at Six Flags Magic Mountain.  Crews from Rocky Mountain Construction have installed the first of the ride's drops, as a second green drop will eventually be added next to the blue.

Here is a profile view of the blue drop in place.  I'm assuming that once the ride is complete the supports will be painted white again, that'll make things look much cleaner for sure.  It will be interesting to see if crews now continue onward with the blue track, or start on the green and do both paths simultaneously.  You can stay up to date on construction photos with this fan page on Facebook.

While on the subject of a Rocky Mountain ride, the company posted the slides they used at a presentation at IAAPA - they're a pretty great read.  The cover the history of the company and give some neat details.
