Mt. Olympus Announces Manticore - New Swing Ride for 2015

Mt. Olympus will have visitors soaring 140 feet above the park in 2015 on their new ride, Manticore.

You might be wondering what a Manticore is, at least I was.  Wikipedia says that it is "a Persian legendary creature similar to the Egyptian sphinx. It has the body of a red lion, a human head with three rows of sharp teeth (like a shark), sometimes bat-like wings, and a trumpet-like voice."

Mt. Olympus created their own Manticore for the promotional art seen above, which certainly looks like an intimidating creature!

Manticore is a vertical swing ride, though I'm not sure of the manufacturer.  The park features a sample photo of the ride here, which makes it appear as perhaps a Zamperla or ARM version.  The ride will stand 140 feet tall and utilize 12 double-seater carriages, allowing 24 riders per cycle.  The tower will be illuminated with plenty of LEDs, giving Manticore a special nighttime look.
