Fury 325 Topped Out at Carowinds

Today was the day that Fury 325 at Carowinds reached it's maximum height, with the final two pieces of lift hill and one piece of drop carefully lifted into place.  Above was the scene early this morning as the last pieces of lift were hoisted up, bolted into place and then supported by one of the cranes.

Before long the final piece of track, adorned with a proper Christmas tree and American flag, went up.  Just like that the ride now stands 325 feet above the park below.  While we knew just what the ride's lift and drop would look like due to both Leviathan and ride animations, it's still impressive to see the finished product.

Carowinds shared this view of the completed structure from the ground - it almost looks like the top of the ride is up among the clouds.  The Charlotte Observer also has a nice story on the topping of the ride, along with impressive photos.

Wasting no time, crews started to lay out more track and supports for work to soon begin on the ride's second hill.  Can't wait to keep watching as Fury 325 comes to life!
