The High Roller Now Towering Over Las Vegas

© The Linq
Now that's a pretty big Ferris Wheel, isn't it?  Actually I should correct myself, that's an observation wheel, and it's name the High Roller.  Being built as a part of The Linq, a new outdoor dining/retail/entertainment area along the Las Vegas strip.

Standing an impressive 550 feet tall, the High Roller will give riders a view of the surrounding casino wonderland unlike anywhere else.  Seated inside climate controlled cabins the forty passengers per cabin will slowly rotate, it will take 30 minutes to make just one full revolution.

The High Roller (I still laugh as that was the name of the now defunct coaster on the top of Stratosphere) has been under construction for a while now, and could open as soon as early 2014.  When it does it will have the title of tallest observation wheel, though others are already proposed that would be taller.

Check out a news article on the High Roller at this link, and more photos of the massive structure here.
