mtvU, United Way and Six Flags Great Adventure Hosting "Spring Fix"

One thing is for sure, the areas hard hit by hurricane Sandy could use a little fun at this point, and it's even better if that fun was for a good cause - one like helping rebuild communities devastated by the storm.

That brings us to Spring Fix, a series of events hosted jointly by MTV, mtvU, and the United Way March 17th through March 23rd, where 50 students will be selected to come to the affected areas and help rebuild.  Forgoing the typical party-type spring break trips to help communities in need, they will be treated to a special concert at Six Flags Great Adventure as the culmination of the events.

The concert will take place at the park on March 23rd, which is also the season opening date for the 2013 season.  Guests that day will also be able to attend the show, with a portion of the proceeds going to the United Way.

“Six Flags is incredibly proud to partner with MTV and The United Way to participate in this national spring break benefit program, driving awareness and assistance to those in need from Superstorm Sandy,” said David McKillips, SVP of Corporate Alliances at Six Flags Entertainment.

College students who would like to apply to be one of the 50 selected students can do so through MTV's website.  It would be pretty neat to see a park fan get selected!  MTV has been committed to helping rebuild the shore since the storm took place, first hosting a large fundraiser for Seaside Heights, which was severely impacted and also the location of their popular Jersey Shore show.
