December 2012 NPN Poll Results

The final poll of 2012 asked our readers which was their favorite still operating roller coaster at a Six Flags park that was added in the 1970s.  Kinda specific, but these are just for fun, right?

Well you guys made this one pretty clear, with Mind Bender at Six Flags Over Georgia scoring the number one spot with just over 23% of the total votes.  Opened in 1978 the Schwarzkopf coaster features two vertical loops and one horizontal "loop" as it has been called.  And the ride is pretty awesome, so I have to agree with many of you!

The Whizzer, at Six Flags Great America, came in as our number two ride with 20% of the total.  And surprise!  The ride is another Schwarzkopf design.  Seems that Anton's creations remain quite popular, even today.

Traveling to sunny California, we find our third place finisher (13%).  Six Flags Magic Mountain's Revolution was added in 1976, and despite some uncomfortable restraints still has plenty of fans out there who voted for it.  Oh.  I almost forgot to mention - this is another Schwarzkopf!

Here is the full results:

4th place was actually a tie between Rolling Thunder at Six Flags Great Adventure and Shock Wave at Six Flags Over Texas.  Sadly, the few Arrow mine trains on the list didn't fare so well, but we still love them!

This month's poll is now up, and it's an annual tradition.  What's your most anticipated new for 2013 roller coaster?
