Alton Towers Continues to Get Corrected

© Tower Times
The U.K.'s Alton Towers has begun vertical construction on their very twisted new roller coaster, though the park has still avoided sharing too much official information on the ride.  The Gerstlauer ride is said to contain many inversions, some of which can been seen taking shape in the above photo from Tower Times.

There is still no official name or full theme for the coaster, and Alton Tower's is still using that rather creepy smiling face and the slogan "Get Corrected" in their marketing, a lot of which is viral.  There's still supposed to be some first-of-its-kind element yet to be revealed, but some of the statistics for the ride are official:  the coaster will stand 98 feet tall, stretch 3,800 feet long, and hit a maximum speed of 53 miles per hour.  For a Gerstlauer coaster that's actually really long - longer than Takabisha in Japan, which if you are unfamiliar is a rather big ride.
