Dollywood Releases 2013 Park Plans

With the majority of a very successful 2012 season now under its belt, Dollywood has turned an eye to the future and released its plans for 2013.  While there will be no huge new ride at the theme park like this Summer's Wild Eagle wing coaster, there will be plenty to celebrate at the park next year.

Commenting on the plans, Dolly said "our plan next year is to give families more Dollywood time, more showtime, more Summertime and more nighttime, including extending the park's hours for six weeks during the summer."

The Festival of Nations, which runs March 23rd through April 22nd, will host the all new Cirque Shanghai show, featuring "dramatic tumbling, juggling, balancing acts, hoop diving along with a variety of amazing feats."  Another new production will be Mystic India, "where professional dancers, vibrant costumes and the dynamic music of Bollywood cinema combine in an explosion of colors and energy in this breathtaking show that fuses fast-paced dance, theater and visual effects."  Both shows will join the Festival's already stellar lineup of shows and celebrations.

One World Celebration will also take place daily, allowing visitors to interact with performers dressed in their native costumes while they dance and interact.

During the Festival guests may also embark on the new Passport to Food, where "guests are invited to take a 'round the world culinary tour of signature specialty dishes from a variety of countries."  Sounds delicious!

Dolly's Celebration Theater will be home to The Great American Country Show next year, featuring today's most popular country music.  The 40 minute show will have six singers and a live six piece band.  Other new shows include Gazillion Bubbles and The Little Engine Playhouse, both perfect for families.

For guests who crave night rides on some of Dollywood's coasters, the park will feature extended hours, staying open till 10 p.m., during the Great American Summer.  There will also be a nightly fireworks show that's synchronized to music played inside the park.

On top of all of this next year's Smokey Mountain Christmas will debut Dollywood's Christmas Carol, an "original musical adaptation that entertains audiences with a 15-member cast, fully orchestrated musical tracks, Victorian scenery and period costuming."

Previously announced at Dollywood's Splash Country is RiverRush, a four story tall water roller coaster.
