Sea World San Diego Completes Manta's Track

© Sea World San Diego

Congratulations to Sea World San Diego, which just completed the track and supports for their new coaster, Manta.  The final section of track was placed this morning, completing the 2,835 feet of twisted steel.

The park first broke ground on the five acre construction site over a year ago in order to start work on the double-launch coaster and aquarium.

With the steel structure complete, the park will now focus on completing smaller details of the projects.  This week the glass viewing windows will go into the aquarium, and later this month the video screens for the special effects during the first launch will be placed.  The launch room will feature larger than life projections of rays on a 270 degree screen.

Right now the ride is on track for a May 26th grand opening.
