Sahara Set to Reopen, Minus Speed

Las Vegas local news is reporting that SBE Entertainment, owner of the Sahara, have had permits approved by the Clark County Commission to remodel and reopen the shuttered casino resort. This is contrary to what most people had assumed, thinking that the hotel would instead be demolished and rebuilt.

As it turns out the hotel and casino will be heavily refurbished and reopened with new amenities including a 2,830-square-foot beer garden. I also assume that since SBE Entertainment is a nightclub operator, we could expect to see a pretty large one of those added to the resort as well, though that's just me making guesses. The sad news, however, is the loss of Speed which will be removed as part of the remodel.
