New Wheel for I-Drive

Orlando's ever-improving ride skyline will most likely get even better. The old Mercado Shopping Center on International Drive has just received preliminary approval from Orange County's Development Review Committee for a 9-acre entertainment complex.

The main focus will be a 425-foot observation wheel, touted as the first of it's kind. The ride does not rotate like a traditional Ferris wheel. Rather, the individual cars will travel along a circular track.

This new development, still awaiting final approval, would begin construction by the end of the year, creating upwards of a thousand new jobs. A Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum is also planned for the property. Check out the full story here.

A rollercoaster that travels at 1mph. Sounds thrilling :)
