Kings Island Announces Fast Lane

Well, that was fast.  We recently heard the soon-to-be Cedar Fair CEO Matt Ouimet mention that a bypass the lines system was probably the way the parks would head, and today Kings Island already announced the system!

Called Fast Lane, the program is pretty simple and relies on wrist bands instead of any type of technology to let you ride faster.  Each day the program is available from noon until 7 pm.  A per-person $50 fee is required, but once paid and wearing the proper wrist band guests can ride 10 of the park's attractions as much as they like with a significantly reduced wait time.

At Kings Island the system lets you ride five coasters:  The Beast, Diamondback, Firehawk, Backlot Stunt Coaster, and Flight of Fear.  Also included are the park's Log Flume, flat ride Delirium, free fall Drop Tower, dark ride Boo Blasters, and finally the brand new Windseeker.

Unlike Six Flags' Flash Pass, this version allows unlimited rides at the reduced wait time during the window of noon to 7 pm.  Potentially, that's a lot more rides than a Flash Pass might allow.  The park will limit the number of Fast Lane tickets sold so keep lines manageable.

I'm anxious to see how this works for the park, and if other parks are going to start this now as well - or if there will be a wait-and-see period.
