Legoland California Expanding Again In 2011

Legoland California just finished a successful 2010 season, and is already eagerly looking forward to 2011.  The park has announced that a total of four new guest experiences will be added to the Resort in the coming year.

The park's famous Miniland will be expanded to include Star Wars scenes, seven in all, covering all six live-action films and the animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars series.  The scenes will be built in 1:20 scale and require 1.5 million Lego bricks.  Guests will also be able to pose with life size Lego models of Chewbacca, R2D2 and Darth Vader.

The theme park's popular Fun Town Fire Academy attraction will be relaunched next year as the Police and Fire Academy.  Instead of helping to put out the flames only in fire trucks, guests will now be able to also sit in police vehicles.

Legoland's Water Park, just opened this past summer, will also have a new addition.  Splash Zoo will open at the park, next to the existing Duplo Splash Safari and Kid Creek attractions.  The area will feature giant Duplo Zoo animals, all of which will have interactive spray elements and other water features.  The area will be aimed at kids ages 1 to 3.

As if all that weren't enough the adjacent Sea Life Aquarium will open the Octopus Garden.  The interactive exhibit will introduce families to the world of cephalopods.  The exhibit will replace the Sharks Revealed space that opened in 2008.

Legoland California has grown into quite an entertainment force over the past decade.  I can't wait to see what the next ten years will hold for it!
