Press Roundup

I wanted to catch up on some press releases that have hit my in-bin lately, but haven't had time to cover them all individually.

Kings Island is excited to show off some of the many changes being made as the park welcomes Planet Snoopy for 2010. Here we see Paul Shafer of Landen, Ohio painting the handrail of a roller coaster in the all-new Planet Snoopy kids’ area at Kings Island.

The new Planet Snoopy will "feature more than 18 rides and attractions, including four kids’ roller coasters, live show and daily character meet-and-greet opportunities with Peanuts characters such as Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Linus and Lucy."

More photos of the changes underway can be seen on the park's Facebook page.

Six Flags America is gearing up to open for their season on March 27th, celebrating Spring Break. All of your favorite rides and attractions will be waiting for you, and there's some additional new surprises as well.

"Also on tap this season: new games and attractions such as a Rock Wall, Quarterback Challenge, and the return of the guest-favorite High Striker. “Bone’s Chicken and Waffles,” a new restaurant, and brand-new shows including the Treasure of Pirate Cove stunt show and kid-friendly Looney Tunes Dance Off featuring Bugs Bunny and other favorite Looney Tunes characters, round out all the new park offerings guests will enjoy beginning on Opening Day."

Then, late in the Summer guests will be able to experience the all new 3.5 acre Thomas Town that is currently under construction. Looks like an exciting year at Six Flags America!

If you love both books and the amusement industry as much as I do, this will certainly be of interest. A new book titled Project Future - The Inside Story of Behind the Creation of Disney World, was recently released.

The publisher released this attention grabbing description: "It’s a plot Jack Bauer would love – a clandestine project by one of America’s most brilliant business leaders punctuated with multiple code names, fake identities, make-shift affiliations, and unique regulatory arrangements.

And while almost every traveler recognizes Walt Disney World as one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations, what might surprise them are the secret and pain-staking measures Walt Disney took to keep his intentions for a Disneyland-East under wraps."

More on the new book can be discovered here.

Six Flags Over Texas has detailed their amazing entertainment offerings for 2010, including:
