Six Flags Great Adventure Opening Pics

I know that I linked to some Great Adventure opening day pictures earlier today, but a reader was kind enough to send me a link to their photos.

In the picture below you can see that Houdini looks to be closed for the season, or at least for a while. But with the signs gone and it not listed on the map ... things don't look good.

This confuses me, Mr. Shapiro said in a couple conference calls that themed rides and attractions that were in the future of the parks - isn't closing one of the most themed ones at the park sorta a step backward?

I don't know ... these photos and some of the new policies that Six Flags is pulling, along with all the ads in the parks make me wonder if this wonderful turnaround is really so ... wonderful.

^ I had to post this one too, here are some signs they put up regarding the mandatory $1 lockers for loose articles for the big coasters. Can you say overkill? Those are all just for one ride!

See the rest of the photo report and make your own opinion.

Seemthis is why I stopped going to Six Flags America at the end of their peak season. Not only are they removing rides and refusing to add new ones to replace them but the insane locker fees & the lame excuses given for them(saying they've had too many theft complaints) is just too much to deal with.

It is a bit much, eh? Everyone keeps saying that Six Flags has a plan and it's going to take more than a couple years to implement all the changes - and I hope they are right. Great Adventure is just showing, imo, almost a shocking amount of transition this year.

I love to say it so I'll say it again - time will tell.
