February's Poll Results

This month I asked readers to vote for their favorite U.S. Great Coasters International wooden roller coaster. After 334 votes the winner came out as Lightning Racer at Hershey Park.

I can't say I'm surprised, Lightning Racer is a really great ride that in my opinion has held up pretty well over the years. Close behind Lightning Racer was Thunderhead at Dollywood.

The top two rides battled the whole month, and it ended up being a close finish. Third we have Renegade, Valleyfair!'s new for 2007 wooden coaster. It sure seemed to be a hit with coaster fans as well as the general public.

The fourth most votes went to Wildcat at Hershey Park. This was GCI's first ride, and it still delivers all these years later - and I really mean delivers, it's quite a while ride.

Kentucky Rumbler and Gwazi came in 5th and 6th with vote totals very close to each other. I think that Busch Gardens Tampa's operating policies of the past few years might have hurt the popularity of this ride, and Rumbler's vote total is probably suffering from it not being in a huge park.

Ozark Wildcat at Celebration City and the two Roar clones at Six Flags America and Six Flags Discovery Kingdom came in at the bottom of the heap.

I'll have this month's poll up soon!
